HELSINKI, 28 October. / TASS /. Ex-presidential candidate of Belarus Svetlana Tikhanovskaya plans to visit Norway on November 10. This was reported on Wednesday by the Norwegian Telegraph Bureau (NTB).
According to him, the information about the visit was confirmed after Tikhanovskaya on Wednesday held an online meeting with the head of the Norwegian Foreign Ministry Ine Eriksen Søreide. NTB clarified that the plan may change depending on the situation with the coronavirus and the accompanying restrictions on entry.
In Belarus, mass protests have been taking place since the day of the elections on August 9, in which, according to the CEC, the current president of the country, Alexander Lukashenko, won with 80.1% of the vote. The second place with 10.12% was taken by Svetlana Tikhanovskaya, she did not recognize the voting results and took part in the creation of the Coordination Council of the Belarusian opposition. In the first days, the actions turned into violent clashes between protesters and law enforcement agencies.
