The Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan accused the Armed Forces of Armenia of violating the next ceasefire agreement reached the previous evening and came into force at 7:00 Moscow time.
“The Armenian Armed Forces, violating the new humanitarian ceasefire regime, are shelling the city of Terter, as well as the villages of the Terter region,” the report says.
Also, according to the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry, the Armenian Armed Forces are firing from positions in the city of Lachin.
“They are bombarding the position of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces in the village of Sefiyen, Lachin region,” the message says.
The Defense Ministry of the unrecognized Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR) denies the statement of the Azerbaijani side about the violation of the ceasefire.
“The units of the Nagorno Karabakh Defense Army strictly observe the ceasefire regime. The accusations of the enemy side have nothing to do with reality and were made by it to prepare the informational ground for further provocations,” the press service of the Defense Ministry of the unrecognized NKR reported.
The ministry added that the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan on Monday at about 08:00 (7:00 Moscow time) before the ceasefire came into force, “hastened to accuse the Armenian side of violating the regime, but after a while deleted this entry.”
“A few minutes later, the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry spread another misinformation, saying that the Armenian side is firing at Azerbaijani positions in the southern direction,” the defense department of the unrecognized republic said.
Earlier on Monday, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said that the Armenian side is ready to observe the ceasefire in Nagorno-Karabakh.
On the eve of the Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan Zohrab Mnatsakanyan and Jeyhun Bayramov agreed on a new humanitarian truce in Nagorno-Karabakh. It began to operate from 08:00 local time (7:00 Moscow time) on October 26.
This is the third attempt by the parties to agree on a truce. Two previous agreements were broken less than an hour after the ceasefire entered into force.
