The CCIF denies any link with "political Islam"

The Collectif contre l'islamophobie en France (CCIF) and BarakaCity, threatened with dissolution by the government, are two associations accused of proximity to political Islam, or even extremism, which they firmly deny.

Created in the early 2000s by the activist Samy Debah, the CCIF presents itself as a association for the defense of human rights whose mission is to combat Islamophobia.

The CCIF which says apolitical and areligious, identifies Islamophobic acts and provides legal aid to people, in particular women veiled, assaulted or victims of discrimination.

In his reports, he denounces the continuous increase in the number of Islamophobic acts in recent years (+ 17% in 2019, according to a report published in February) and castigates a racism that does not speak its name.

It has long been led by the 40-year-old Marwan Muhammad, who gave it visibility through his activism on social networks and his presence in the media.

Marwan Muhammad, like the CCIF, are regularly accused of proximity to movements of political Islam such as the Muslim Brotherhood. The CCIF denies en bloc, indicating that it has no link with political islam. In November 2019, the CCIF was one of the organizers of a march against Islamophobia tense and controversial.

Described Monday as a possible enemy of the Republic by Gérald Darmanin who accuses him of being obviously involved in the Conflans-Sainte-Honorine attack, the CCIF immediately denounced calumnies, incredibly indecent given the context.

BarakaCity cries out for "scandal"

In 2008 in Essonne, a group of 30-year-old Muslims of Salafist inspiration led by Idriss Sihamedi began to help destitute families by marauding, then by donation campaigns among Muslims, especially during Ramadan and via social networks.

In 2010, they officially created BarakaCity and extended their reach abroad, organizing their first campaign in favor of flood victims in Pakistan.

In 2012, the association, which highlights Islam as a unifier of all cultures in the face of all miseriesharvest In a week one million euros during Ramadan to build wells for brothers and sisters in Togo.

BarakaCity is becoming popular, especially among young Muslims from disadvantaged neighborhoods, also thanks to its shocking videos and engaged speeches. His Facebook account is now followed by more than 700,000 people.

She goes to Southeast Asia, where she denounces the crimes against humanity targeting the Rohingya Muslim minority in Myanmar, or Syria.

But it has also found itself in recent years on the front of the stage for its sometimes ambiguous positions which have fueled suspicion on the part of the French authorities.

In January 2016, on a television set, Idriss Sihamedi sparked a controversy by refusing to unambiguously condemn the attacks committed in France by the armed group Islamic State.

Two months later, the courts opened an investigation into suspicions of terrorist financing abroad. It will be closed three years later, proof according to the lawyer of the association Samim Bolaky, of its unfounded sulphurous reputation.

Idriss Sihamedi has again been accused of proximity to Islamism in a tense climate, especially after the opening of the trial of the 2015 attacks.

Last Wednesday, he was placed under judicial supervision as part of a social media harassment investigation, following a defamation complaint filed by a columnist for RMC radio. He was summoned to court on December 4.

We bring 2 million liters of water per day to Africa and operate for 2 million beneficiaries. This proposal for dissolution is a real scandal!, he reacted on Monday morning on Twitter, pointing out that BarakaCity defend his rights.
