The Minister of internal Affairs of Ukraine Arsen Avakov said that he does not want to become Prime Minister.
Earlier, Avakov stated that he is not running for President, said the current government is competent and confident that any coup attempt will be overcome in the interests of the people.
“I hope God has mercy. I like the current Prime Minister!” – wrote Avakov in the comments on his page in Facebook in response to the question, whether preparing it to the Premiership.
Avakov was appointed Minister of internal Affairs of Ukraine on 27 February 2014. He was reassigned to the position on 29 August 2019. He is one of two Ministers of the previous government, which remained in the Cabinet under the new government. After the resignation of the government Alexey Goncharuk in March 2020 Avakov also has kept the post.
